AWAMN ENDORSES WACEE’24

The Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria (AWAMN) received a request from the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria (AHK) for an Endorsement of the forthcoming West Africa Clean Energy and Environment Tradefair & Conference (WACEE’24).

The request by an International organisation for an Endorsement by the Association is a great recognition of this Noble Association amongst highly/reputable organizations locally and international.

The Association has therefore endorsed the event giving us a great mileage as event partner being showcased all over the world.

The event will hold in Nigeria as follows:
Venue: Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Dates: 8th – 9th, October 2024.

Distinguished members will recall that earlier this year, precisely on the 17th of January, 2024, the National President, Mr. Olugbenga Adebola led other AWAMN EXCO members on a courtesy visit to the Delegate/Head of the Delegation of German Industry & Commerce in Nigeria (AHK) Mr. Timo Pleyer. The official visit/meeting marked the commencement of strategic partnerships beween AWAMN and the AHK on one hand and other German Agencies in Nigeria on the other hand. The current EXCO of AWAMN is desirous to give the Noble Association and our esteemed members the much needed international exposure, bringing about more partnerships between her members and various German companies operating within Waste management value-chain.

The National President, Mr. Olugbenga Adebola had earlier established and strengthened relationships with the German Missions in Nigeria. He has been collaborating through his company Richbol Environmental Services Ltd with a lots of German companies and the Mission in Nigeria. He was invited to the German-Nigerian Business Conference during the visit of the Gernan Chancellor, Mr. Olaf Scholz to Lagos in 2023. Mr. Adebola was also invited to another strategic meeting with Ms. Jennifer Morgan, the State Secretary & Special Envoy for International Climate Action during her visit to Nigeria in May 2024. The event was hosted in Lagos by Mr. Weert Borner LL.M, the Consul General of the German Consulate General of Federal Republic Of Germany in Lagos.

The partnership, as expected led to the facilitation of Capacity Development and Training of some of the AWAMN members on international study tour, partially sponsored by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs in May 2024.
6 members of the Association were part of the Nigerian Delegation that went on a Study Tour to Germany for Technical Seminar/Training on Environmental Technologies and also attended IFAT2024.

Many more bilateral and multilateral partnerships and collaborations were consummated at IFAT2024.

Let’s save the dates of WACEE’24 as the Association is encouraging her members to massively participate in the event.
